Expressing My Authentic Self

My name is Kent V. Madriaga. I’m a high school student in Ilocos Sur National High School. Everyone knew that I am a good student and I like to study. My favorite subjects are Science, Araling Panlipunan, and Filipino. I do my best in school  everyday because I want to become a doctor someday, I want to help people with severe illness. I try to be myself, be passionate about my dreams and hobbies, live honestly, and work hard to achieve all that I want to make.

Each person has different hobbies, and doing different things that makes them happy. Doing arts like drawing and painting is my hobby and this is my hobby since I was a child. It makes me happy when I do arts and it also relaxes me. I remember when I was 5 years old my father bought art materials for me, I was very happy when he gave it to me and that was the start of why I love arts. I have many dreams and aspirations in life that i  want to achieve. Many people dreams of becoming architect, lawyer, or a pilot but I have always wanted to be a doctor. I want to become doctor since i was a child because I want to take away all the pain of every people around me by giving them medical treatment that they deserve. I know that being a doctor is not that easy but I will work hard or strive hard to make my dream come true and to make my parents proud. My parents always support on whatever I want. According to them, the only way to achieve all your dreams or goal is to work very hard, focus on what you are doing, be strong, and never give up on them. They have never demanded that any of their children become what they want us. Instead they want us to choose careers in life that makes us happy or gives us joy. I want to learn more things in life and i know that there are many things that I have to learn. The first thing I want to learn is to play any musical instrument like guitar. I know how to play guitar but all I know is basic chords and I don’t know how to play it well. Whenever I hear the sound of guitar it calms me down.  Two more things I want to learn are swimming and dancing. I want to learn swimming because I want to be physically active and I know that swimming is fun. I want to learn dancing because I think it’s cool and i know that dancing will give joy to me. We know that there is no perfect in this world, we all have weaknesses and strengths and we need to accept that. I also have weakness and strength. My weakness is playing sports, I am not a sporty type of person and i just get tired quickly. My strength is to draw. I love drawing because drawing helps me to express myself and it helps me feel more happy and confident every day.

All of that best describes me. I am who I am and I am proud of it. To those who don’t appreciate themselves, be yourself, accept your flaws and be proud of what you are now. Always remember that we are all beautiful in our own way. Don't listen to whatever they say about you, use it as an inspiration to make yourself better. Being yourself  and being true to yourself is what makes you more unique or perfect to the eyes of others.
