QUALITY EDUCATION VS. GLOBAL PANDEMIC

The Corona Virus Disease pandemic had a severe impact on us students because of the global lockdown of education. This pandemic is preventing us students from fulfilling a safe and quality education for all. But the government has many ways to make a quality and safe education possible amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. We need education because education gives us more knowledge about everything and will give us someday a brighter future. Continuing the education amidst the pandemic is the biggest priority of our government. Face to face classes are not yet allowed because it increase health risk to us learners and teachers so the government is finding the best way to provide a quality education for all students in the country. President Duterte approves limited face to face classes in low risk area but it will start on year 2021.

New forms of education may open doors for more equitable and a quality education for us learners. This pandemic has brought awareness to all people around the world in reviving the education system. This pandemic shows us to be creative in providing education to everyone. The needs of us learners must be addressed by the government to make this new normal learning easier. Teachers must be trained to implement the adjustments and to prepare what is needed in learning. Teachers and parents or guardians should cooperate to help the learning process of every student. Technology is very important in this new normal learning because this technology provides us effective ways to forge a relationship between us learners and teachers. Use technology properly and don’t abuse it. I think it would be also great if we do our best as a student to practice cooperation and discipline to our teachers for us to easily understand and solve our problems and complains about this new normal learning system. We all know that new normal learning is very hard for us especially us learners but I believe that through the support of the government it is possible that we will have a quality education.

The DepEd encourages us to continue our online learning but not all are privileged to afford online learning and not all has access on the internet. We have available online educational platforms here in the Philippines one is the DepEd commons it is accessible on Globe or TM-powered smartphones free of data charges and it is also accessible to private schools. Since online learning is not accessible for all DepEd found new way and that is the modular learning. Since connectivity remains a problem for most students like me, DepEd will provide self learning modules. The self learning module will be distributed to the parents and will be retrieved by teachers from parents. DepEd thinks that this online and modular learning are the best way to provide quality education for everyone.

Education enables us to lead a successful life and enhances our intelligence. Education will make a big change to the world. We need a high quality education amidst global pandemic. We just need unity to make it possible. I know it’s hard to adjust to this new normal learning but we need to face the reality that we have to learn for a better future. Everyone will have an opportunity to have a quality and safe education if we all cooperate. This is just a trial and I know that we can overcome it, just pray and believe to God.
