An Experience to Cherish

The Department of Education ensures that us learners will be able to continue our educational journey at home. Due to the Corona Virus pandemic face-to-face classes are suspended or not allowed. This new normal type of learning is new to me and I had a hard time accepting and adjusting to this new normal imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. I am used to the traditional face-to-face classes and I can say that it is more effective than this new normal type of education but understand that the purpose of this is to maintain the safety of everyone and to continue learning amidst the global pandemic.

I’ve learned a lot of things from this new normal of education even though this is not what I am used to. I learned how to meet the deadlines on time. I learned how to improve my time management. I learned how to be creative in making different things. This learning experience shaped me to become a better version of me. I will apply my learning to real life situations to develop the skills I need throughout my life.

I have encountered many challenges in this new normal education like having a hard time adapting to this new normal, internet connectivity, lack of materials to be used in this new normal education and I had a hard time on studying independently. Even though I experience a lot of problems or challenges in this new normal I still learn how to deal with them. Establishing a new routine, taking care of tasks and making time for myself, starting meditation and other exercises to train my brain and attention span, studying in small sessions and taking frequent breaks are some of the ways I do to cope to this new normal education.

I will always be very thankful because I still learn a lot of things despite the global pandemic. Even though it’s hard to adjust in this type of new normal learning I still make ways to make learning easy for me. I will cherish this new learning experience forever. I will now embrace the new normal and accept the fact that this morbid reality is now standard.
