Empowering Women for Better Future

Throughout history, women's key role in society has ensured the stability, progress, and long-term growth of nations. Women are now playing significant roles in politics, the economy, the home, society, and nation-building. The timid female of the past has been replaced by a youthful, fashion-conscious, and smart girl. In engineering, science, space research, health, and business, women are bumping elbows with males and competing with them. This significant shift in their status indicates that their emancipation is nearly complete.

The world has changed dramatically in recent years. Women have been compelled to leave their homes and enter various professions in order to supplement the income of their men folk as a result of the changing economic situation. But women, by nature, are tender, compassionate, and sympathetic. They can, therefore, become good teachers, nurses, physicians, social workers, journalists, wardens of orphanages, and homes for elderly and impoverished.

Despite progress, women still subjected to widespread violence and discrimination. In too many nations and regions, women are still devalued and denied or treated as second-class citizens. They are the victims of gross inequity or all too often, much worse.

Women and girls are not only helpless victims; they are also sources of power: power to cope, power to prevent, power to decrease risk, power to adapt and change, and power to rebuild better after a catastrophe. That is the power we aim to summon and harness.

It is in our power to change stereotyped social norms and prejudices that prevent today’s girls from improving themselves. As a citizen of the world, each of us must continue to stand by girls to raise powerful women. Guaranteeing the rights of women and giving them opportunities to reach their full potential is critical not only for attaining gender equality, but also for meeting a wide range of international development goals. Empowered women and girls contribute to the health and productivity of their families, communities, and countries, creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone.

It's perfect time for everyone to evaluate their own views on the different gender issues that have arisen or become more visible in the current society. Let us concentrate on detecting and redressing power disparities, as well as allowing women more choice over their lives. We are living in a rapidly changing world. If we listen carefully, we can hear the woman’s revolution thundering on not so distant shores.
